In 1983 a small group of people interested in opera, including singers, parents of singers, singing teachers, professionals and business people, decided that Pensacola could mine our rich local talent to produce quality opera. They created a grassroots opera company called "Pensacola Chamber Opera".

The Windsor Police Pipe Band is a non-profit organization based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1967, the Windsor Police Pipe Band has been one of the largest piping and drumming organizations in Canada, and the world for many years. The band wears the Red Gordon tartan in honor of then Chief Gordon Preston.
